Every year there are new films that attract our attention. But they don’t seem to have the same shine as the old films of yesteryear. We are not wrong when we consider some of them perfect, and which will always remain in the history of cinema. We also tried to compile a top 5 old classic movies, but it was very difficult. There are certainly many more that deserve a place on this list, but this is the one we present to you.
Gone With The Wind (1939)
We couldn’t talk about the top 5 classic old movies without mentioning this movie, whose action takes place during the civil war that took place in the United States. Apart from the captivating subject, which makes you unable to move from the armchair when you watch it, this film is also recognized for the fact that it is the first color film to win an Oscar.
Casablanca (1942)
A love story that defies the passage of time. In fact, a love triangle, and the action of the film takes place in a city in Morocco, Casablanca. We won’t tell you any more details about the movie, which you definitely know, we just want to point out that Humphrey Bogart is downright brilliant in the role of Rick. And, from our point of view, it deserves its place in the top 5 classic old movies.
Psycho (1960)
But enough with the love stories. It’s time to revive what we called the top 5 classic old movies. This time with a classic thriller that will keep your soul in your mouth. And, although you are not presented with explicit images at all, the emotion you feel when you watch this film is a huge one. A classic film, which is worth seeing even if you are not a big fan of this genre.
Grease (1978)
The classic high school love story: a good girl who falls in love with a rebel. We have to deal with a lot of dance, music, but also moments that have successfully passed the test of time. We had no way not to include it in the top 5 classic old movies, especially since John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John simply made history. Everyone loves this film, which has become a reference in the history of cinema of all times.
To Kill a Mockingbird (1962)
Once again we are dealing with a true classic, which has passed the test of time well. It is the adaptation of the successful novel by Harper Lee, and the subject is not a light one at all. Even more if we take into account the period in which it was launched. In short, we are presented with the story of a lawyer, Atticus Finch, who is assigned to defend a client accused of rape. Only there is a problem: the color of the accused’s skin. Atticus Finch must do his duty to the client, to the family members, and to see how he manages to deal with the prejudices of those around him. A classic story, but which always seems current, and a movie that you really have to watch.
