Star Trek: The Original Series
(1966-1969, 80 Episodes)
In the turbulent 1970s, Star Trek looked at a future that was hopeful and refreshing. Even so, the parallel stories of war, racial strife, and global/intergalactic conflicts made us look deeper into the events of the time. There was even a theory that Star Trek and the Smothers Brother Comedy Hour were both canceled due to their political commentary about the Vietnam War.
Gene Roddenberry’s space adventure takes the crew of the starship Enterprise on a five-year mission through the galaxy. Starring William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Nichelle Williams, DeForrest Kelley, and James Doohan.
I’m not ashamed to say that I was a fan from the very first episode of Star Trek. I had a major crush on Mr. Spock. I have always been attracted to tall. thin intelligent men.
My Favorite Episodes: Season 1, Episode 16 – The Galileo Seven
Season 2, Episode 1 – Amok Time
Season 2, Episode 12 & 13 – the Menagerie
Season 2, Episode 22 – Space Seed

Star Trek: Discovery
(2017-) 43 episodes
Created by Star Trek alums, Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman, this Star Trek prequel takes place a decade before Kirk sets for on the Enterprise. In the first season of Discovery, we follow the adventures of the crew of the USS Discovery with a mysterious Captain Lorca (Jason Isaacs), a renegade officer (Sonequa Martin-Green), and a new lifeform, called a Kalpeien, played by Doug Jones.
This new timeline introduces plenty of new lifeforms, characters, and parallel universes to keep Trekkies busy trying to figure out how and where the world of Discovery fits into Star Trek canon. Catch up with all 3 seasons of Discovery.
Picard (2020-, 11 episodes)
After an illustrious Star Fleet career, Captain Jean-Luc Picard retires to his vineyard on Earth, Chateau Picard. After 14 years of quiet, uneventful retirement, is pulled back into space when a mysterious young woman seeks his help.
Picard takes place after the destruction o the Romulan homeworld in 2387 of the Kelvin timeline, created in J/J. Abrams Star Trek movie. Don’t ask me to explain it. I asked one of my super-Trekkie friends.
Coming Soon: Strange New Worlds
Captain Christopher Pike, played by Anson Mount (Hell on Wheels) Number One (Rebecca Romain), and a younger, strangely emotional Spock (Ethan Peck) are on the bridge of the Enterprise. We finally find out what happened to Captain Pike before arriving on Talos IV, and the accident that leaves him crippled.
