But the truth is, there are some pretty incredible chick flicks that even men shouldn’t mind watching, actually, anyone with a heart can’t help but love them. Movie night does not have to be like the battle between the Jedi and the Sith.
So, below is a list of some chick flicks that men might learn a thing or two from.
10 Things I Hate About You
10 Things I Hate About You based on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew follows two sisters being raised by their widower dad. The older sister abhors dating, but the dad has declared that the younger sister will only be allowed to date when the older sister dates.
Enter the guy who has a crush on the younger sister. Well, he hires the school’s bad-boy, played by the late Heath Ledger to somehow win over the older sister and take her out on a date so he can take out her younger sister.
Sound simple? Well, it’s anything but. Watch as comedy ensues. Trust me it is one of the best comedies ever.
A Walk to Remember
A Walk to Remember begins with a school prank that goes horribly wrong and lands a student in the hospital.
Landon Carter, played by Shane West is the popular student who has no defined plan for the future. He is held responsible for this prank and as a punishment is forced to participate in after-school community service activities, which include starring as the lead in the school play.
He meets Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore), a girl who is his exact opposite. She is ambitious, hardworking ,and nice, in short, nothing like Landon. However, Landon develops feelings for her and eventually their relationship blooms.
The relationship brings out Jamie’s heart-breaking secret that puts their relationship to the test and in time shows them the true meaning of love and fate.
Warn your man, this movie is a tearjerker.
The Blind Side
It is a movie that has football as a very important part of its plot. But it is not your average football movie about jocks wearing letterman jackets winning against a team against which they had no chance.
The Blind Side is based on the true story of Michael Oher, a homeless and traumatized boy who became an All-American football player and first-round NFL draft pick thanks to the help of Leigh Anne and her family who took him in and made him a member of their family.
This movie has everything – heart, soul, and love.
Come on, guys…admit it you like chick flicks too! Head over to Just Chick Flicks on Facebook and tell use your favorite chick flicks to want on date night with your man.
