Ovation TV has a new Saturday night programming block called The Best You’ve Never Seen. It is part of CulturePOP and is focused on bringing a bit of art and culture into our lives. They have also created a web series called Drinks and a Movie. Hosted by comedian Melissa McQueen, Drinks and a Movie features a quick overview of the current programs airing on The Best You’ve Never Seen, followed by a recipe for a similarly themed cocktail. The “Drinks and a Movie” series will be featured on Ovation and will also be accessible on OvationTV.com and CulturePOP.com.
New episodes of the Drinks and a Movie series debuted on May 14, 2012 for the premiere of Cloudstreet on Ovation. Based in the novel by Tim Winton, Cloud Street chronicles the lives of two working class Australian families over a period of twenty years, 1943 – 1963. They come to live together in a suburb of Perth at One Cloud Street. This week’s featured themed cocktail recipes include “The Lamb and the Pickle,” a nod to the names of the two families depicted in the series, and “The Killer Kangaroo”.
