What makes their movies so special is the dynamic chemistry between Spencer Tracy and Kathryn Hepburn. Even though they seemed to be opposites, they were made for each other. They made a total of 9 movies together. Their final film was Guess Who is Coming to Dinner, for which Hepburn won her second Academy Award for Best Actress.

I prefer ‘old-school’ scary that movies left you on the edge of your seat and made you check all the locks in the house before you took a shower, made by the Master of Suspense, himself: Alfred Hitchcock.

The Philadelphia Story is one of my all time favorites, with three of my favorite actors doing what they do best. It is a classic romantic comedy, full of witty dialogue.

When I think of chick flicks, I think about the movies that old Hollywood moguls used to call “women’s movies”. They were talking about movies that appealed to women. They were not always love stories, but there was always a strong female lead. Actresses like Kathryn Hepburn, Barbara Stanwick, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford.
