The best thing about a really good Chick Flick is the strong female character. Whether its the young girl looking for loving in a sweet romantic comedy or the poor sick girl in a really sad tearjerker, or a chick who can kick butt, the leading lady is our heroine. She is the reason why we love Chick Flicks.
Here is my list of 15 great Chick Flick characters. I know…I know, there are hundreds of great characters, so please send me your favorites.

Hey Clara, this list is fantastic. I’d have to go with Gweneth Paltrow as my #1, she played a great character in Emma.
My favorite is Phil (Bill Murray) in Groundhog Day. I LOVE that movie!
My faves on your list are: Danielle De Barbarac, Margo Channing and Thelma & Louise. Missing? The unforgettable Miranda Priestly from “The Devil Wears Prada”. Although she was hardly a sweet, young thing looking for love, Ms. Streep kicked butt (and is great in just about everything!). And I absolutely cannot forget Carrie-Ann Moss as Trinity in “The Matrix” trilogy. Obviously not a chick but she made a huge difference in that movie! Oh, one last addition (which is a lie, because I’m sure that I’ll think of several more! lol) – Audrey Tatou in “Amelie”. She was so adorable in that role.

Now for Classic Chicks:
Grace Kelly in “Rear Window”
Norma Shearer in “The Women”
Meryl Streep in ANYTHING
Vivian Leigh in “Gone With The Wind”
Barbara Streisand in “The Way We Were”
Renee Zellweger in “Jerry McGuire”…just realized these last 2
should probably have been in the Lookin’ For Love category.
Ok…Lookin’ for Love…
Sandra Bullock in “Hope Floats”
Sanaa Lathan in “Something New”
Rachel McAdams in “The Notebook”
Toni Collette in “Murial’s Wedding”
Absolutely spot on… the only one I thought I would see mentioned though, is Angelina Jolie’s Lara Croft!

How could I forget Lara Croft? She is definitely a girl who is looking for some action.
