du·plic·i·ty (n)

1: contradictory doubleness of thought, speech, or action ; especially : the be lying of one’s true intentions by deceptive words or action
2: the quality or state of being double or twofold. The double cross
3: cool new spy vs. spy flick starring Clive Owen and Julia Roberts.

After starring together in Closer in 2004, Clive and Julia are back together again in a smart and funny caper movie.   In  Duplicity, they star as  Claire  Stenwick and Robert Koval, a couple  of corporate spies  with a steamy past. They team up to steal top-secret research about a personal care product from rival corporations. As former spies, Claire and Robert have difficulty trusting each other, which makes for some really funny scenes between the two stars.

The plot of Duplicity evolves through a series of flashbacks, so pay attention, cause it can be confusing. It reveal a lot about their   steamy past.  There is obvious chemistry between Clive and Julia, but who wouldn’t have chemistry with Clive Owen? Tom Wilkinson and Paul Giamatti are also brilliant as the battling CEOs who hate each other and who live to get the upper hand on their competitor.  Who knew the competition to make our hair more bouncy and give us whiter smiles was so intense? I enjoyed this movie.  It was entertaining.

There are  some interesting twists and turns in the plot. And just when you think you have all the angles figured out….well I don’t want to spoil the ending for you. Check our Julia Roberts and Clive Owen in Duplicity and let me know what you think.

Not a huge fan of Julia, don’t partocularly dislike her, I think she was good in Duplicity. Favorites of her would be Closer and Sleeping with the Enemy.

@Andi I thought I was the only one who felt that way about Julia Roberts. But that’s another post.
